Shape Run 2015

This year’s Shape Run was fantastic - about 12,000 runners contributed to the exuberant atmosphere at the popular all-women race on 26 July 2015. The 10th edition of the race included new categories - the competitive 15 km race, and a 1.8 km Family Fun Run, where dads were also encouraged to run alongside their kids. The route snaked along Nicoll Highway, towards the Singapore Flyer, back to Kallang and concluded at Kallang Practice Track.

True Fitness was proud to be the Official Fitness Partner for this event. Our instructors conducted pre-run warm ups for the runners and also led two Group Exercises – the sexy and super fun SH’BAM dance workout, as well as the high-intensity Piloxing workout. Despite having just completed a gruelling run under the hot sun, the race finishers got to their feet immediately to join in the SH’BAM fun! Dancing to chart-topping pop songs on radio (imagine shaking to Taylor Swift and Justin Timberlake), these ladies grooved along with tons of energy.

The Piloxing workout is a cardio fusion of Pilates, Boxing and Dance. It challenged the ladies’ endurance intensely. The workout combines techniques that burn maximum calories, build lean muscles and increase stamina. The ladies cheered each other on and managed to push through the exhilarating workout.

Kudos to the race finishers! They trained, they ran and all of them emerged winners - for constantly pushing their limits, and taking on challenges fearlessly.
